Verizon Activated Record 9.8 Million Smartphones in Q4 2012

U.S. carrier Verizon has announced that it activated a record 9.8 million smartphones during 2012's quarter four.
Verizon Wireless, the United States' leading major carrier, also said it activated a "higher mix of Apple smartphones" during the same quarter. Official figures will be released on January 22 through Verizon's financials earnings report.
Activated doesn't essentially mean units sold, but it's expected that the actual smartphone sales for Verizon isn't far off from that 9.8 million figure.

The company's quarterly data leak also confirmed that it gained 2.1 million post-paid subscribers during Q4, 2012, representing an increase from the previous quarter's 1.5 million subscribers.
