ZTE’s Grand S Is Now Officially Official, Coming Soon With Impressive Specs and Ultra-Thin Body
While we did know for a while that a new ZTE “beast” going by the name of Grand S is due for a release soon, up until today we only had unconfirmed rumors or semi-official info about the 5-incher.
CES 2013 however brought the Grand S to light, and we are happy to report this is one of the top-tier Android devices to watch for this year. Despite rocking an ultra-thin 6.9 mm unibody, ZTE’s new flagship packs a lot of heat under its hood.
There’s a 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU in there, as well as 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of on-board storage and microSD support. The 5-inch screen is of course Full HD, while the breathtaking spec sheet also includes a 13 MP rear-facing snapper, 4G LTE, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and NFC.
Unfortunately, the 1,780 mAh battery doesn’t sound enough to get you through a full workday, but let’s wait and see how it behaves in real life. Chinese folks will be able to do that in “Q1 2013” (meaning by the end of March), while the rest of the world should get the Grand S soon after. No official word on pricing yet, but rumor has it the phone will not go over $500 off contract.
