The ‘Harry Potter’ actress has two films premiering this month, ‘This is the End’ on June 12 and ‘Bling Ring’ on June 14.
The 23-year-old actress is not only on the top of her acting career, but she’s also announced her return to Brown University to complete her degree.
Just as she has with her lead roles in “Harry Potter” and in the new Seth Rogen movie, “This is the End,” Watson is taking control of her education.
“I’ve kind of been in charge of my own education since I started out on ‘Potter’ when I was 9 or 10,” she told Rookiemag.com.
But as far as university studies go, the actress said, “I liked that I could design my own major if I wanted to, and I could take independent studies if I wanted to on subjects that weren’t necessarily in the curriculum.”
Watson left Brown in 2011 and was rumored to have dealt with bullying troubles. However, the young starlet said that’s not true and she’ll be returning to continue her studies this fall.
“I really like the fact that it has a very open curriculum, that there aren’t any requirements,” she said of her free-flowing approach to academia. “I did an independent study on the psychology and philosophy of how and why we fall in love, which was awesome.”
With two films out in June - - “This is the End” on June 12 and “Bling Ring” out June 14 - - Watson has been busy working on her blossoming movie career. Now, she can turn her focus back to the books, and she appreciates the way her Ivy League school approaches education.
“It attracts a certain type of student: [Someone] very independent who wants to take responsibility and control of what they’re learning,” she said. “That really appealed to me, as well.”
