Bring your smartphone, get 10K off on Samsung Galaxy Note II
Following in the footsteps of Apple, Samsung too has introduced a buyback offer for the Galaxy Note II. The company is offering Rs 10,000 off on a Note II in exchange for any old smartphone. A newspaper advertisement on Friday says the offer is only valid on select smartphones in working condition. Buyers have to carry the smartphone with a charger and submit a self-attested photocopy of a government-issued ID.
Under the Smart Upgrade offer, the Galaxy Note II will be available for Rs 27,500. Buyers can also opt to pay in instalments of Rs 4,584 a month for six months with no down payment, interest or processing fees. The deal is valid until June 30 or until stocks last. Samsung is trying to cast its net wider as the offer is available not just in Samsung and leading mobile stores but also selected online portals and the Samsung online store.
The offer could be Samsung's way of getting rid of its Galaxy Note II inventory as the Galaxy Note III could be ready for launch soon. Until now, the launch of Galaxy Note phablets was announced at the leading consumer electronics trade show in Berlin, the IFA, which takes place in September. Market talk also suggests the Galaxy Note III could be launched earlier in July or August.
Earlier in April, in response to the Apple's buyback offer, Samsung had come up with a 15 per cent cash back offer on selected devices in the Galaxy range if purchased with a Standard Chartered or ICICI credit card. While the company has rolled back the scheme, it still offers instalment schemes for smartphones.
