Lotus Exige S Roadster prices
Drop-top 145mph Lotus Exige S Roadster prices to start at £52,900
The Lotus Exige S Roadster will cost from £52,900 – exactly the same price as the Exige S Coupe - when it goes on sale this summer.
The Roadster has a look of its own though, and is more understated thanks to the fact that it doesn’t feature the rear wing and front splitter of the hard-top Exige S.
The Roadster also has a lightweight factory-fitted soft top – which Lotus describes as being removed in just ‘two clicks and a roll’ – and, when combined with the removal of the wing and splitter, means the Exige S Roadster will weigh less than the coupe, shaving 10kg off its total weight to 1,166kg.
Behind the driver’s head is the same 345bhp 3.5-litre V6 as the Exige S coupe, making it the fastest ever Lotus convertible, with a 0-62mph time of 3.8 seconds.
However, Lotus has elected to limit the Roadster’s speed to 145mph, down from the coupe’s 170mph. The Roadster is 1.3-seconds faster to 62mph than the Porsche Boxster S, but has a lower top speed and costs £7,516 more.
Available only in a six-speed manual for now, Lotus has said they will consider a paddle shift option subject to demand from customers.
As standard, the Roadster includes an AP-Racing brake system, 17-inch front and 18-inch rear alloys and a suite of Lotus-developed electronic driver aids. The suspension is by double wishbones all round, with dampers sourced from Eibach, and springs from Bilstein.
The Roadster will be available with the same full list of options and extras as with the Exige S coupe, which includes quilted leather seats and new door trim details.
