Akshay Kumar to share screen with Nargis Fakhri
KARACHI: Bollywood Khiladi, Akshay Kumar has reportedly given the nod for Rumi Jaffery’s remake of the 1982 Basu Chatterjee’s ‘Shaukeen’. The superstar has been roped in to reprise Mithun Chakraborty’s role for the film and is sharing the screen with ‘Rockstar’ actress Nargis Fakhri.
The film plot revolves around three indecent men flattering the heroine. The original roles played by Ashok Kumar, Utpal Patel and A.K. Hangal are now being played by Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Anupam Kher. According to Indian media sources, Rishi Kapoor was approached for one of the men in the film. However, his unavailability made Anupam Kher step in. The three-decade old film is reportedly written to suit today’s time and will be shot in Thailand instead of Goa with three men wooing the heroine on Thai beaches.
It is reported that Nargis Fakhri who was supposed to star opposite Akshay Kumar in ‘Khiladi 786’ was then replaced by Asin. It is also reported that the actress has now signed up for a three-film-deal with Akshay Kumar’s production house, Hari Om Productions.
The film is reportedly slated for release in mid 2014.
