Nissan sings new tune with Versa Note
It adds two new feature levels for its little hatchback
CHICAGO -- Nissan is sounding a couple new high Notes.
Today, it is previewing the 2015 Versa Note SR and SL, two new trim levels for its cheapest, smallest hatchback, at the Chicago Auto Show. Both add their own list of new features.
"The new Versa Note SR and SL grades retain all of the favorite consumer attributes of the Versa Note...while adding a sportier look and feel in the case of the SR, and more standard technology and convenience items with the SL," said Pierre Loing, a Nissan North America vice president, in a statement.
SL, for instance, gets a unique fascia and grille, dark headlight treatment and fog lights with black and chrome accents to make it look more sporty. It also has a rear spoiler and 16-inch aluminum wheels.
In a similar vein, the 2015 Versa Note SL also its gets more stuff -- fog lights, a 5-inch color display, rear backup monitor, SiriusXM Satellite Radio (you have to spring for a SiriusXM subscription) and 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, among other things.
"With a broader lineup for 2015 – and the standout style of the sporty new SR grade – we expect Versa Note to garner more attention and greater sales in the competitive entry-level hatchback segment," says Loing. "When we launched Versa Note last year we called it 'Your Door to More.' Now there are 'More' choices to enjoy."
