Simon Cowell’s lover Lauren Silverman gears up for custody battle with husband Andrew Silverman

The socialite’s husband is reportedly seeking primary custody of their son, accusing his estranged wife of being a deficient mother.

Andrew Silverman, the husband of Simon Cowell's pregnant lover Lauren Silverman, is reportedly seeking primary custody of his 7-year-old son.

The real estate mogul, longtime friends with the "X Factor" host, visited his wife in the Bridgehampton, NY on Thursday for a late-night meeting.

Silverman plans to file for primary custody, sources told TMZ, because he considers his 36-year-old socialite wife to be a less-than-adequate parent.

According to the gossip site, Lauren Silverman would frequently disappear for long periods of time to pal around with celebrities. Because the couple has a pre-nuptial agreement, custody is the major issue in divorce proceedings.

According to Lauren Silverman's mother, Carole Eisenberg, the warring couple is attempting to keep things civil for the sake of their son.

"They have a beautiful 7-year-old child between them and that is their biggest concern," Eisenberg said.

Lauren Silverman stepped out with son Adam at a toy store in the Hamptons on Friday. The brunette apologized to store clerks for the photographers that were tailing her.

Andrew Silverman filed for divorce from his wife in Manhattan Supreme Court on July 15, accusing his wife of "cruel and inhuman treatment."

"My top priority is protecting my 7-year-old son while working to resolve all outstanding issues with my wife," he said in a statement.

Simon Cowell's last public appearance was at a Television Critics' Association panel in Los Angeles. The television personality refused to speak about the scandal.

"Unfortunately, for the moment, I have to keep this private," Cowell said.
